Center eyes on China's high-end medical treatment market

Jia Yue Eye Surgery Center, under Singapore Medical Group Limited, opened its first flagship clinic in China last week, signifying the company's determination in exploring China's high-end eye surgery medical treatment market.

The store, located in Beijing's Gateway Plaza in Chaoyang district, is equipped with the surgery platform iLASIK technology, which is widely used by the United States Department of Defense and NASA.

"With the growing demand of high-end quality services and rising expectations of eye surgery medical care, the Chinese medical care industry is becoming a promising market for us," said Cheryl Baumann, CEO with Singapore Medical Group Limited.

In response to the country's deepening reform policy that encourages introducing foreign advanced management ideas into China, Baumann said they hope to play an important role in the civil private medical treatment.

Faced with local competitions from local public medical clinics, she said the situation would promote the industry to a higher level of professional skills and better service to clients.

Apart from eye care treatment including implantable contact lens, cataract surgery and corneal transplant, the clinic also provides VIP room, café and hair care rooms to highlight the luxury concept.

With the arrival of the national Eye-care Day on June 6, the center set up a charity project "glasses donation", aiming to help those who are desperate for bright eyes.
