VMware Inc, the biggest virtualization computing company globally, announced on Wednesday its cooperation with Chinese software company Inspur Group Co Ltd, a move to penetrate the country's cloud computing market.

The aim of the partnership is to transfer Chinese data centers to cloud infrastructure, by entering many key industries such as health services and security.

"Inspur has signed a cooperation agreement with 20 cities to provide cloud computing services, and next month we will launch a new cloud computing operation system with WMware," said Wang Endong, senior vice-president of Inspur.

"In the near future, users can control the access to information and databases on demand, just like tap water."

The National Development and Reform Commission said the country's software industry had 59.3 billion yuan ($9.4 billion) turnover last year, with 30 percent growth year-on-year.

Sales revenue for VMware was $3.8 billion in 2011.
