HONG KONG -- John C Tsang, the Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government, will leave for Beijing on Sunday for the opening ceremony and summit forum of the China (Beijing) International Fair for Trade in Services to be held on Monday.
The Information Services Department of the HKSAR government said in a statement on Friday that while in Beijing, Tsang will meet with officials from the China Securities Regulatory Commission and the China Insurance Regulatory Commission. He will also have lunch with Hong Kong businessmen in Beijing.
In addition to attending the China (Beijing) International Fair for Trade in Services, Tsang will speak at the opening ceremony of the Mainland-Hong Kong Services Industry Symposium organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council on May 29.
Tsang will return to Hong Kong in the afternoon on May 29. In his absence, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury K C Chan will act as Financial Secretary.
