Freedom takes flight in new British drama

A British physical theater group is making the boarding call for its flights for a freedom adventure, which will take off in Guangzhou on Sept 27 and 28.

The Idle Motion Company based in Oxford will bring the audience their best-selling show The Vanishing Horizon, which celebrates feminism, freedom and adventurous spirit by telling the story of a female pilot pioneer.

Anna, the granddaughter of the female pilot, follows her grandmother's will and retraces her flying route from London to South Africa. The young woman thus gradually understands why her grandmother left the families and embarked on the adventure after her husband's death.

Meanwhile, Anna's boyfriend is recording a series of radio programs involving female pioneers of aviation, introducing these brave women to the audience with thought-provoking lines.

The theater group is known for its highly visual filmic style. With a creative use of props and body movement, it accomplishes the mission impossible to present a vivid flying experience in a small theater.

8 pm, Sept 27-28. Guangzhou Opera House, Exit B1 of Zhujiang New Town subway station, the interchange of subway line 3 and line 5, Guangzhou. 020-3839-2888.
