A road in Central China's Zhengzhou city caved in for a shocking 14th time, local newspaper Dahe Daily said on Saturday.

According to the report, the latest cave-in happened on the 20th of September, creating a pit two meters wide, and a big empty hole can been seen underneath.

The Xisanhuan Road, or the west part of the third ring, was opened to traffic in May this year. Since opening, cave-in accidents constantly occurred. Nine out of fourteen cave-in accidents were all centered on an intersection of Zhongyuan Raod.

Professor Wu from the Henan University on civil engineering, investigated the area shortly after the accident. He says the latest cave-in site shows clear that a pipping effect for the soil has been flushed away.

A researcher with the investigation team says the 15th cave-in is not far away.
