Chinese Film Seeks Answer to 2012 Prophecy

The Chinese fantasy film "Heart of Paradise" ("Wu You Zhi Cheng"), which takes the 2012 doomsday prophecy as its background, has begun production.

The film is about a group of Chinese people who try to save the world by following Beiyejing, an ancient sutra written on leaves, according to executive producer Huang Hongren.

Jin Jiuzhou, who wrote the story, says he wants the film to set a reminder that protecting the environment has been an urgent task for humans.

Filming will take place in Xishuangbanna, a picturesque area in southwestern China's Yunnan Province.

Su Fei is directing the film. Cast information has yet to be announced.
