Broadway's most expensive show in history has been delayed yet again.

"Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark," the much anticipated show with music by U2 members Bono and The Edge, has delayed its official opening by three weeks from December until January, producers said on Friday.

The $60 million musical, which will feature acrobatic flying sequences, was already delayed from an initial opening earlier this year after experiencing financial problems.

The show's lead producer Michael Cohl said it was typical for a musical that had not been transferred from a smaller theater elsewhere to experience schedule changes.

The musical "has an unprecedented level of technical artistry, and getting it right takes time." He added, "We apologize in advance to any inconvenienced ticket-holders."

The show is now set to open on January 11 2011.

The New York Times reported last week that several actors were recently injured in rehearsals.
