Los Angeles – You'd never know it to look at them, but the stars of the new romantic comedy "Going the Distance" are just friends. Maybe. Maybe not?

Drew Barrymore and Justin Long are the duo, and their on-again, off-again real-life romantic relationship has been fueling the tabloids for the last couple of years. Reportedly off and "just friends" these days, they were on when they shot "Going the Distance"; and they looked like a happy couple at the premiere of the film on Monday, Aug. 23, held at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

All hugs and kisses as they posed for the cameras, the pair was joined by their pregnant co-star Christina Applegate and her fiance Martyn LeNoble, who truly seem like a very happy couple, as well as Hollywood power couple Kate Beckinsale and Len Wiseman. Malin Akerman came solo, and Rick Schroeder brought his son Luke. Late-night host Jimmy Fallon escorted his wife Nancy Juvonen, who is Barrymore's long-time film producing partner.

Other stars of "Going the Distance" made the glittery scene, too, including Kelli Garner, Charlie Day, Natalie Morales and Jason Sudeikis, but all eyes were on Barrymore, who looked ravishing in a long patterned gown.

At an earlier press conference for the film, Barrymore explained her reasons for taking on the comedy that's all about carrying on a long-distance relationship.

"I was excited to play it. I just wasn't in that place in my life where I wanted to play a cuckoo, wacky sort of scenario. I wanted to play someone who can hangout with guys and loves women but has a spine and is funny. I feel like I relate to that kind of person right now in my life," she said.
