The Fifth Chinese American Film Festival came to a close at Hollywood Sunset Boulevard on Friday, with more than 50 movies from the two countries competing for the Golden Angel Award.
The one-month event, now in its fifth year, is an opportunity for Americans and Chinese living in the United States to enjoy movie from the East. This year's festival celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
A number of movies expected to win the Oscar were shown in the festival, including The Hurt Locker, Up, and Monsters vs Aliens. Chinese movies at the festival include The Founding of a Republic, The Turning Point 1977, The Message, Sophie's Revenge, Red Cliff II, The Equation of Love and Death, Looking for Jackie, and Look for a Star.
