Large Medium SmallA trailer for the highly anticipated blockbuster Bodyguards and Assassins (Shiyue Weicheng) offers hints as to the identity of the actor who plays Sun Yat-sen.
The trailer showed the faces of 10 characters, but Sun only appeared as a voice.
Some suspect the voice belongs to Zhang Hanyu. Zhang has won five awards at domestic film festivals for his performance as a soldier in Feng Xiaogang's war epic The Assembly (Jijie Hao).
Bodyguards and Assassins tells the story of a group of martial artists from various walks of life who protect Sun, a respected revolutionary, from assassination in early 20th century Hong Kong.
In addition to an all-star cast, including Donnie Yen, Nicolas Tse, Hu Jun and Leon Lai, the film also features about an hour of intense kungfu performances - that's about half of the film.
Directed by Teddy Chan and produced by Peter Chan, the movie will premiere on Dec 18.
