Rex Features Scarlett Johansson has been praised for her concern over historical accuracy on the set of her new film The Other Boleyn Girl.
British author Philippa Gregory, who penned the novel that the movie is based on, was impressed by Scarlett when she visited the set as part of her role as the film's factual consultant.
"When I got on set it was like a reading group. The whole cast and set were reading not just The Other Boleyn Girl but the rest of my Tudor novels, too," Gregory explained. "They'd come up to me and say, 'How does this fit with this?' and 'Who is this person?' It was a very interesting experience.
"Scarlett's copy of the book is broken-backed and it's marked on every page."
The Other Boleyn Girl tells the story of 16th-century aristocrat Mary Boleyn, who was the sister of Queen Anne Boleyn.
