Newlywed Eva Longoria has vowed to put motherhood on hold, because she doesn't want to leave Desperate Housewives.

The 32-year-old actress married French basketball ace Tony Parker earlier this year and has made no secret of her wish to start a family one day, but the Latin beauty is determined to put her career first - and concentrate on the hit TV series that made her a star.

She says, "Tony wants children and so do I, but I'm also involved in a very successful series, which has been the greatest break in my career and I have to be respectful of that.

"This is our fourth series now, and we're looking at several more years hopefully, so having a baby is a huge decision.

"We're going to wait and think a while before we make that step."
