Desperate Housewives gets set for US return

Marcia Cross, Nicollette Sheridan, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria and Felicity Huffman will return to television screens in the US later this month for Desperate Housewives.

And by the looks of things the fourth season will be the raunchiest yet.

Trailers being shown in the States now feature Teri Hatcher's character, Susan Mayer, lounging on a bed in her lingerie with her legs in the air.

Lynette Scavo - played by Felicity Huffman - is seen wearing a short black wig.

And the mystery surrounding the apparent suicide of Nicollette Sheridan's character, Edie Britt, looks set to be resolved.

She appeared to kill herself in a cliff-hanger episode at the end of series three.

In previews she is seen attaching a scarf around her neck and standing on a chair before the camera cuts to her leg, dangling in the air.

Creator Marc Cherry has promised the Wisteria Lane-set show will return with a bang.
