An adaptation of Robert Harris' New York Times best-selling novel, the movie
will chronicle the days leading up to the destruction of the city through the
eyes of a young engineer named Marcus Attilius, who is assigned to repair the
greatest aqueduct in the Roman Empire. It already has a projected August start
and is planned to be shot for five months with Polanski helming from the script
he wrote alongside Harris.
