Jodie Foster and Little Miss Sunshine star Abigail Breslin are to star in the fantasy Nim's Island, according to Variety Monday.

The movie tells the story of a young girl (Breslin) who accompanies her scientist father to an isolated island in the South Pacific. When he is lost at sea, she communicates electronically with a person (Foster) whom she imagines to be a character from a book but who is in fact a reclusive author.
