Mumbai, Nov 19: After the over-a-month shoot for the film `A Mighty Heart' in Pune and this city that was marred by controversies involving their bodyguards, Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie and her partner and actor Brad Pitt left for home today.

The duo with their three children left by an early morning flight, sources said here.

Although the shooting of the movie would continue for some time now, Jolie's scenes had already been canned, the sources added.

Since the couple arrived in Pune on October 5 for the shoot, controversy has followed them, mainly over the conduct of their bodyguards.

The last few days of the shoot in the Mumbai were marred by a run in with the law for Angelina's bodyguards, who were arrested for allegedly manhandling waiting parents at a school where shooting was in progress.

Pitt, who is also the producer of the movie, subsequently apologised for the incident to Police Commissioner A N Roy.

"A Mighty Heart" is based on the life of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl who was killed by militants in Pakistan while pursuing a story on Islamic terrorism four years ago.

Jolie plays the role of Marrianne, wife of Pearl.
