Country music sensation Keith Urban has voluntarily checked himself into rehab, according to media reports.

The singer, who is married to Oscar winner Nicole Kidman, was admitted Thursday night into an undisclosed treatment center for alcohol abuse.

The New Zealander-Australian country music star battled an addiction to cocaine in the late '90s, but cleaned up before releasing his self-titled American debut in 2000.

Urban released a statement to Premiere Radio Networks saying, "I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole and the ones that love and support me.

"One can never let one's guard down on recovery and I'm afraid that I have. With the strength and unwavering support I am blessed to have from my wife, family and friends, I am determined and resolved to a positive outcome."

His concert Friday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticu      t was canceled due to "illness," and all of his immediate appearances have been postponed.

There is no word yet on if Keith Urban will be keeping his commitment to perform at the 40th Annual CMA Awards on Nov. 6.
