Beyonce' newest CD, B-Day , completes her transformation from a member in a group (Destiny's Child) to a successful, independent artist.
Released the day after her 25th birthday, B-Day highlights Beyonce' vocal range and demonstrates a more grown-up sound than we'e heard before.
Like her first solo project, 2003' Dangerously in Love, this CD contains its share of ballads about love and relationships. In fact, Beyonce' real-life boyfriend and rapper, Jay-Z, is featured on two of the tracks: Deja Vu and Ring the Alarm.
Among the best offerings is the bonus track titled Listen , with its upbeat, danceable vibe and its singable tune that makes you want to roll down the windows of the car and karaoke at the top of your lungs.
B-Day does not fail to deliver R&B music staples catchy beats and relationship themes; however in all of the 10 tracks there seemed to be nothing new that strayed from this formula.
