Adam Sandler changes his act in "Click."

Many moviegoers, including OSU students, have been anticipating Adam Sandler's new film, "Click."

In the movie, architect Michael Newman (Sandler) struggles with juggling his career and family life. He often finds himself fighting with his wife, played by Kate Beckinsale ("Underworld"), and working continuously in an attempt to get a promotion.

In his effort to become a partner, Michael's attention to his family's needs begins to dwindle. His motto seems to be ¡°work comes first." Michael's life just doesn¡¯t seem to be going the way he wants it to.

Then one night, while searching for a universal remote for his house, he meets a man named Morty (Christopher Walken) and ends up getting a remote that actually controls his universe.

The first part of the film is very funny and marked with the typical Sandler comedy, but then things start to take a serious turn. In the second part of the movie, a long line of tragic events occur because of poor choices Sandler previously made. There was even a part of the movie where my friend and I started crying, and I am the type of person that rarely cries. I especially do not cry as a result of watching a film! The sadness is broken up with comic relief, allowing the audience to relieve tension as things get worse and worse for Sandler.

The previews for the movie "Click" deceivingly portray a movie filled from start to finish with sidesplitting laughter. In truth, it is at times very serious and takes the form of some of his recent and mature works, like "Spanglish." However, it also includes the type of humor that is seen in many of his earlier films. Sandler's humor and taste have been developing over time into a successful style.

This movie shows that Sandler is a talented and versatile actor. There are sure to be many more wonderful and humorous films by Sandler as he works at altering and perfecting his style.

Though the movie was different than expected, it was extremely good. Don¡¯t let the fact that the movie differs from the previews deter you from watching this film. It is still humorous and the ending does not disappoint the audience. Go with your friends, enjoy this film and maybe you will even learn a life lesson along the way.
