The famous new father's film Babel is scheduled to have its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The festival runs September 7 to 16.

Pitt skipped the film¡¯s screening at the Cannes film festival in May because girlfriend Angelina Jolie was about to give birth to his first child, Shiloh Nouvel. Directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Babel also stars Cate Blanchett.

The actor was last at the TIFF in 1997 to present Seven Years in Tibet.

Pitt was in Canada last year filming The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, which is due in theatres in October.

This year's TIFF will also host screenings of The Wind That Shakes the Barley starring Cillian Murphy, The Caiman and Lights in the Dusk. John Cameron Mitchell's sexually explicit Shortbus has also been scheduled.
