Lindsay Lohan joining Brody for comedy 'Speechless'

LOS ANGELES - Lindsay Lohan and Adrien Brody will join up for a new Cyrano de Bergerac-inspired romantic comedy, "Speechless", to be made by indie-film director Brian Dannelly, the Hollywood press said.

Brody will play an introvert who is expected to give a speech at a friend's wedding. Instead, he turns to a service which gets Lohan to speak through him, according to Daily Variety.

The tale is based on a 1952 story by the late science fiction writer L. Sprague De Camp.

The film will be shot by independent director Dannelly, who made the 2004 Christian high school comedy "Saved", while production will be in the hands of Sobini Films, which will open filming in the coming months.

Brody, 33, winner of the best actor Oscar for his moving lead performance in "The Pianist" (2002), is currently shooting a romance about a matador and an actress in Spain with Penelope Cruz. The film is based on the life of the legendary torero Manuel Rodriguez Sanchez.

Still-barely-a-teenager Lohan is currently one of Hollywood's most desirable actresses. But she has shown a marked preference for indie films, and "Speechless" would be her sixth straight.
