Madame Tussauds Hong Kong announced today local movie star Cecilia Cheung is
next in line to be immortal zed in wax at the new look attraction scheduled to
reopen at The Peak in August.
Dressed in a glamorous black gown with elaborate bow detailing, Cecilia will
take her place in the Hong Kong Glamor hall alongside Hollywood stars like Brad
Pitt, Michelle Yeoh, Elizabeth Taylor and Meryl Streep while mingling with Asian
VIPs at the hottest celebrity party in town, Head of Marketing & Customer
Services of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, Kelly Mak, said.
Cecilia is Best Actress in the 23rd Hong Kong Film Awards and Best New
Performer in the 19th Hong Kong Film Awards. Cecilia was delighted to join
Madame Tussauds by appearing alongside some of Hollywood's most acclaimed stars.
"I am looking forward to taking my career to Hollywood and Madame Tussauds has
certainly provided a glimpse into this exciting world," she said.
As the first permanent Madame Tussauds in Asia and one of five Madame
Tussauds that are located in London, New York, Las Vegas and Amsterdam, Madame
Tussauds Hong Kong is undergoing an expansion project worth 20 million HK
dollars. The new look attraction will feature over 100 local and international
celebrity wax figures with exciting audio-visual effects and interactive
experiences to create truly magic moments for guests.
