A mainland edition of the Hong Kong-based Fine Art Asia fair, the Guardian Fine Art Asian, will be held in Beijing from May 28 to June 1, teaming up 20 international galleries to show antiques, oil paintings, jewelry and other decorative arts.

The London boutique David Aaron Ancient Arts, established in 1910, will make its debut in Beijing to present Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Near Eastern antiques. Especially deserving of attention is a gold necklace of the Scythians, nomadic tribes that flourished between the 7th century BC and 4th century AD.

The Gladwell & Patterson gallery, also from London, will showcase works by Picasso, Monet and Miro, among which Picasso's Guitar Hanging on the Wall is an eye-catcher.

Lectures will also be held in which connoisseurs and collectors are invited to tell the stories behind works of art and art market trends.

The Guardian Fine Art Asian, as part of the China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services, is jointly organized by Fine Art Asia and Guardian Beijing. It will be held at the China National Convention Center.
