Tan Jing presents new song in Gaobeidian village

Folk singer Tan Jing last week performed for people living in Gaobeidian village, east of the capital, her new song Trust, which is dedicated to unemployed people living in the community.

The song encourages them to regain their confidence and restart their careers.

Last year, the 34-year-old singer from the Song and Dance Ensemble of the People's Liberation Army held a solo concert at the Royal Albert Hall inLondon.

She also performed at the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games.

"I've performed at many big galas and international stages. I've also performed for soldiers across the country. But it's the first time that I perform for people living in a village," she said.

A chorus made up of 100 people from Gaobeidian village joined Tan to perform the song, which was composed by Yin Qing and written by Wang Xiaoling and Zhuhai.

"This song is for ordinary people, who have encountered some difficulties in their lives," she said.
