Sounds like cappuccino

( China Daily ) Updated: 2012-09-14 14:35:57

The sounds of piano, violin and cello mix well, like coffee, milk and sugar. Classical music fans in Guangzhou can spend two September nights in a row sipping the enriched "coffee" flavored by piano trios from the UK and the US.

Sitkovetsky Piano Trio, made up of three graduates from The Yehudi Menuhin School in the UK, will perform first on Sept 18. The Trio has prepared a feast, with Haydn, Brahms, Dvorak, Puccini and Handel on their menu.

Professors from The Curtis Institute of Music in the US, the cradle of phenomenal musicians including Leonard Bernstein and Lang Lang, will showcase the charm of the elite music school on Sept 19. Besides a piano trio of Haydn, the visiting group will also stage a piano quartet - piano, violin, viola and cello - of Dvorak.

8 pm, Sept 18. Chamber Hall. 8 pm, Sept 19, Symphony Hall, Xinghai Concert Hall, 33 Qingbo Lu, Ersha Island, Yuexiu district, Guangzhou. 020-8735-2222.
