Chongqing, a city known for its spicy hot pot, has an upcoming comedy named after the famous dish.

Chongqing Hot Pot, directed by Chongqing native Yang Qing, will hit screens on the Chinese mainland on April 1 next year.

Set in the mountainous city, the film is about an employee's plan to rob a bank with help from three of her former schoolmates.

Veteran actors Chen Kun (Painted Skin) and Yu En'tai (My Own Swordsman), Qin Hao and Bai Baihe play the "gang of four".

Yang, known for the 2009 low-budget comedy thriller One Night in Supermarket, is widely regarded as a good storyteller with a sense of humor.

Veteran Taiwan director, producer and scriptwriter Chen Kuo-fu is the executive producer.
