At the age of 8, Elizabeth Stewart stood on a stage singing Queen of the Night, a part of Mozart's opera The Magic Flute at a concert sponsored by UBS.
The audience was moved by her powerful voice and graceful performance.
The young girl first performed on stage at the age of 3. Unlike some children who feel unhappy during practice and feel stress when on the stage, Elizabeth enjoys performing.
"I don't have to practice everyday, so I still have time to play with my friends. When I stand on stage, like everybody else, I'm a little nervous, but more excited."
Elizabeth's talent was discovered when she happened to listen to Queen of the Night one day on her iPad and began to sing along.
She was born to perform on the opera stage.
UBS has been a sponsor of the Beijing Music Festival for 10 years. Each year BMF has helped to invite musicians and UBS sponsors to perform for UBS employees and VIP guests in Beijing and Shanghai.
David Li, chairman and head of China UBS AG, believes that high-quality art will inspire the company's employees.
"What we pursue is in common with what the musicians pursue – perfection and balance," said Li.
