Qin Yong grew up in a village in a mountainous region of Hubei where it was difficult to find transportation to big cities. From the time he was a child, horses were a means of transportation and he always imaged he would be riding to see more of China. This year Qin became a dual gold medal winner at the 10th National Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities, bringing great pride to his family and his village. His dream is to become the first Chinese jockey to succeed in international horse racing.
