Sixty false universities were revealed by university-introduction website sdaxue.com recently to help students distinguish authentic colleges in the enrollment season, Legal Daily reported on Monday.
According to the third alert list of China's false universities (2014) issued by the website, the 60 false universities are in 19 provinces and municipalities, and 15 are in Beijing. The false universities have no qualifications but run classes and give fraudulent certificates. They make money by cheating students who gained low scores in the national college entrance exam but still hope to go to university.
The website issued its first and second alert lists containing 150 false universities on June 26, 2013, and July 23 the same year and helped prevent many low-scoring students and their parents from being cheated.
