A policeman in Foshan, Guangdong province, received a one-year sentence for disclosing information concerning escaped criminals, Guangzhou Daily reported on Tuesday.
Surnamed Li, the policeman disclosed the information in 2012 to a Hong Kong man for cash, according to the report.
A court in the city’s Chancheng district sentenced Li to one year in prison for illegally providing personal information and fined him 20,000 yuan ($3,290).
The Hong Kong man received the same sentence for illegally obtaining information.
