Outdoor clothing sold online had serious quality problems, especially those that were in the quick-drying category, according to Beijing Consumer Association.
The association said on Thursday that 55 percent of selected items of outdoor clothing did not meet national standards.
A random selection of 40 items of outdoor clothing purchased from major online shopping websites were sent to the China National Textiles Supervision Testing Center.
Results showed that 22 of the items did not meet national standards.
Major problems included false claims in advertisements, false description of the fiber content and were functionally not suitable.
