Mozambican ruling party's chief on tour of China

MAPUTO - General secretary of the ruling Frelimo Party in Mozambique Filipe Paundi started an eight-day working visit to China on Tuesday.

Paundi arrived in China on Monday night, leading the party delegation to the Asian nation, with the aim of strengthening the friendship and solidarity between Frelimo and the Chinese Communist Party.

Paundi is scheduled to hold talks with Chinese top party officials, including members of the International Connection of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.

He will also be offered an official banquet, according to a Tuesday's communique of the Mozambican ruling Frelimo party. In China, Frelimo's general secretary is to travel to Guangzhou province and tour a special economic zone in the city of Shenzhen.

This is the second visit to China by Paundi. The first he made was in 2008.
