Mothers-to-be receive psychological training recently in Beijing.
The Huggies diaper brand of US-based Kimberly-Clark Corp sponsored a recent Mothers-To-Be health symposium in Beijing.
Experts and professionals from home and abroad discussed how to prevent antenatal depression, a form of depression suffered by mothers before a baby's birth. More than 400 obstetric doctors and nurses from 290 hospitals around China also received training during the symposium.
Pec Indeman, president of the International Postpartum Relief, Education and Training Committee, said antenatal depression has been a serious problem affecting women's and babies' health .
Education, professional intervention and self-adjustment by mothers-to-be are effective ways to avoid antenatal depression, Indeman said.
