Mitsubishi Lancer EX
This compact sedan, produced by the Chinese mainland-Taiwan joint venture, Southeast Motor Co Ltd, has two engine options: 1.8 liters and 2.0 liters all-aluminum four-cylinder MIVEC. It also has two gearbox options: five-speed manual and six-speed INVECS-III CVT. The 2.0-liter six-speed CVT version, with a maximum power of 112Kw/6,000rpm and a peak torque of 197Nm/4,250rpm, has a top speed of 195 km/h and accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 9.8 seconds. The Lancer EX retails between 109,800 and 169,800 yuan. It is 4,570 mm long, 1,760 mm wide and 1,490 high. It has a 2,635-mm wheelbase. The model main competition comes from the Ford Focus, Honda Civic and Citroen C-Quatre.
Citroen C5
This mid-sized sedan, from PSA Peugeot Citroen's tie-up with Dongfeng Motor Corp, has three engine options: 2.0 liters four-cylinder, 2.3 liters four-cylinder and 3.0 liters six-cylinder. Three gearboxes-five-speed manual, four-speed automatic and six-speed automatic-are also available for the Citroen C5. The 3.0-liter version, with a six-speed automatic transmission, produces a peak power of 162kW/6,000rpm and boasts a maximum torque of 300Nm/3,750rpm. This version accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 9 seconds and has a top speed of 230 km/h. The Citroen C5 sells from 176,900 to 298,900 yuan. Its length, width and height are 4,805 mm, 1,860 mm and 1,458 mm respectively. Its wheelbase is 2,815 mm long. The model goes head-to-head with the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Volkswagen Passat.
