Students at Yutang Middle School can readily find the LG logo on the school's front door, in their dormitory and at the digital education classroom.
Thanks to a 10 million yuan donation from LG Electronics, the school located in Dujiangyan in Sichuan province has been rebuilt and upgraded following last year's May 12 earthquake.
The South Korean electronics giant helped reconstruct buildings, equipped the school's computer classroom with LG products and provided the school library with books donated by LG employees.
In addition, the company installed LG refrigerators, washing machines and microwave ovens in the students' dormitory.
Yutang Primary School is providing education and accommodations for more than 13,000 Dujiangyan students.
"As a corporate citizen in China, it's our responsibility to repay society, to make people here happy," said Nam K. Woo, president and CEO of LG Electronics Greater China.
With the donation to Yutang, LG Electronics has contributed nearly 20 million yuan to natural disaster relief and post-earthquake recovery in Sichuan since last year.
"Our commitment to China is a long-term strategy," Woo said.
