High-profile summit

Over 1,200 government leaders, business executives and experts will attend a major summit this week on the development of China's large-scale enterprises in Hangzhou.

The summit, sponsored by the China Enterprise Confederation (CEC), will also witness the release of the Top 500 Enterprises in China.

Qinghai

Joint protection

The Qinghai Lake National Natural Reserve became partners with several institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to develop the area and better protect the region's environment.

The joint project is led by the Computer Network Information Center and several other institutes of the academy.

Located in the northeastern region of the Qinghai-Tibet plateau, Qinghai Lake is the largest inland saltwater lake in the country.

Media partnership

China's largest news portal, Sina Corp, signed a deal with National Geographic magazine to become the US-based magazine's strategic partner.

The partners will set up a new website at geo.sina.com.cn that will allow China's netizens to view pictures and read stories from the famous magazine.

Healthcare centers

Ciming Checkup, China's largest health examination chain, announced plans to build its largest healthcare center in the country.

The company will build the Beijing-based center into a flagship that will offer health information, health screening, consulting and other services. It has 45 outlets throughout China that serves more than 10 million people each year.
