Design competition

China's first trademark design competition was held on Aug 20 at the "Wahaha" Cup 2009 China Trademark Design Competition in Beijing.

Fu Shuangjia, deputy director of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, said the competition was an important tool to promote innovations in trademark designs.

The event also helps publicize the importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in China, said Li Jianzhong, chairman of the China Trademark Association.

Professional designers, experts on trademark law and also design experts from art colleges and universities were in attendance.
