IP brands

The Intellectual Property Office of Yunnan Province, Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Department, Industry and Commerce Administration of Yunnan Province and Yunnan Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision this month issued "Guidelines on Quickening Independent IP Brand Construction".

The guidelines provide practical steps on establishing brand names, marketing and intellectual property protections.

The guidelines also describe 10 steps to:

1) Hasten the implementation of IP strategy,

2) Improve the motivation mechanism for brand construction,

3) Establish an independent IP brand alliance,

4) Establish a guild,

5) Engage the service of agents,

6) Build a brand-display platform,

7) Understand the news media's role,

8) Consolidate assessments of IP assets,

9) Increase law enforcement participation in IP protection and,

10) Expand cooperation and communications with foreign countries.
