Skoda Superb Haorui
The mid-sized sedan, made at Sino-German joint venture Shanghai Volkswagen, has two engine options: 1.8-liter and 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder. Both of the two versions are equipped with a six-speed Tiptronic gearbox. The 2.0 TSI engine produces maximum power of 147kW/5,100-6,000rpm and boasts top torque of 280Nm/1,700-5,000rpm. The 2.0-liter Superb Haorui has a top speed of 220 km per hour and accelerates from zero to 100 km per hour in 8 seconds.
The Superb Haorui only consumes 6.1 liters of gasoline per 100 km at a constant speed of 90 km per hour. It meets the National IV emission standard. The model also has lots of cutting-edge features, such as "TwinDoor" trunk, AFS (adaptive front lighting system) dual xenon headlight, intelligent solar sunroof and PLA system (park lenk assistent in German).
The Haorui is one of the roomiest mid-sized sedans as it is 4,838 mm long, 1,817 wide and 1,462 high with a 2,761-mm wheelbase. The model retails between 179,900 and 250,900 yuan. Its main competitors are Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. According to Skoda, the Superb Haorui mainly targets customers who are "practical, easygoing and quality-oriented".
Riich M1
The micro car from Chery is equipped with a 1.0-liter, four-cylinder in-line engine which produces maximum power of 50kW/6,000rpm. Having a five-speed manual gearbox, it offers top torque of 93Nm/3,500-4,000rpm. It has a top speed of 140 km per hour and meets the National IV emission standard.
The Riich M1, retailing between 38,800 and 53,800 yuan, targets "fashionable young buyers born after 1985", according to Chery. The model is 3,601 mm long, 1,587 mm wide and 1,527 mm high. It has a 2,330-wheelbase.
New Honda Odyssey
The new MPV, made at Sino-Japanese joint venture Guangqi Honda Automobile Co, retails between 229,800 and 282,800 yuan. It is equipped with a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder in-line I-VTEC engine and a five-speed automatic gearbox. Its maximum power and top torque stand at 133Kw/6,500rpm and 218Nm/4,300rpm respectively. The new Odyssey accelerates from zero to 100 km per hour within 12.3 seconds. It only consumes 6.8 liters of gasoline per 100 km at a constant speed of 90 km per hour.
The seven-seat model is 4,810 mm long, 1,802 mm wide and 1,570 mm high. It has a 2,830-mm wheelbase. The new Odyssey goes head-to-head with the Buick GL8 from Shanghai GM.
BMW new 5 Series
The new 5 Series, built at BMW's joint venture with Brilliance China, has four engine options: 2.0 liters, 2.3 liters, 2.5 liters and 3.0 liters. The 530Li's six-cylinder in-line engine produces maximum power of 190kW/6,600rpm, and its top torque stands at 300Nm/2,500rpm. The 3.0-liter version has a top speed of 250 km per hour and accelerates from zero to 100 km per hour in only 7.2 seconds.
The 2.5 and 3.0 versions are added some features, including BMW's all-new iDrive system integrating entertainment, information and navigation functions, and Bluetooth. Prices of the new 5 Series range from 412,600 to 688,600 yuan. It goes head-to-head with the Audi A6L and Mercedes new E-Class. The 5 Series is 4,981 mm long, 1,846 mm wide and 1,477 high. It has a 3,028-mm wheelbase.
Fiat Bravo
The imported compact car is equipped with a 1.4-liter four-cylinder in-line engine and a six-speed Dualogic TM transmission. It produces maximum power of 88kW/5,000rpm and offer top torque of 206Nm/1,750rpm. Its top speed stands at 197 km per hour and it accelerates from zero to 100 km per hour within 9.6 seconds. The Bravo meets the Euro IV emission standard.
The model's length, width and height are 4,336 mm, 1,792 mm and 1,498 mm. It has a 2,600-mm wheelbase. The Bravo sells for 219,000 to 239,000 yuan.
