Qianmen expands
Qianmen Street, a historical thoroughfare south of Tian'anmen Square in Beijing, plans to expand east to attract the presence of traditional brands.
Meng Zhijun, deputy director of the Qianmen Management Committee, said the goal is to have traditional brands make up 70 percent of all merchants.
The committee will invest 10 million yuan to support the development of traditional brands each year, Meng said.
Gas tech exhibit
The 11th China International Exhibition on Gas Technology, Equipment and Applications is scheduled Sept 23 through Sept 25 at Beijing's National Agriculture Exhibition Center.
The exhibition has attracted 150 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions showcasing air separators, compressors, cylinders, testing instruments, pumps and valves.
Scheduled to run concurrently are the New Energy (Hydrogen + Fuel Cells) Asia Expo and the third China International Hydrogen Forum.
Commercial complex
Sino-Ocean Land, a Hong Kong-listed property developer, announced plans to build a commercial complex in the capital's Central Business District (CBD) core area.
The project, named "Office Park", will adjoin the four-hectare CBD Historical & Cultural Park.
The complex will feature Grade A office buildings, combined with service apartments and retail space.
