Mercedes all-new E-Class

The ninth-generation E-Class hit the China market last week with two models priced at 618,000 and 688,000 yuan. The business sedan is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 engine and 7G-Tronic power transmission.

The model can produce a maximum power of 170Kw/6,000 rpm and boast a top torque of 300Nm/2,500-5,000rpm. It has a top speed of 247 km per hour and accelerates from zero to 100 km an hour in 7.5 seconds.

The E 300's length, width and height stand at 4,872 mm, 1,854 mm and 1,454mm respectively. It has a 2,874 mm wheelbase. E 300 will mainly compete with Audi A6L, BMW 5 Series, Cadillac SLS and Lexus ES.

Junjie FSV

The Zhonghua Junjie FSV made by Brilliance China Auto retails between 69,800 and 89,800 yuan. It has two engine options: 1.5 liter and 1.6 liter four-cylinder. The 1.5-liter version produces maximum power of 75kW/5,500-6,000rpm. Its five-speed manual gearbox has a top torque of 135Nm/4,500rpm. The 1.6-liter version, with a four-speed automatic transmission, produces maximum power of 74.2kW/6,000rpm and boasts top torque of 138Nm/4,500rpm. The Junjie FSV has a top speed of 170 km per hour.

The Junjie mainly competes with other homegrown models, such as the BYD F3, Chery A3 and Haima Happin. The Junjie is 4,510 mm long, 1,755 mm wide and 1,460 mm high. It has a 2,580-mm wheelbase.

Fengshen S30

The Fengshen S30 compact sedan, Dongfeng Motor Corp's first own-brand sedan launched last Wednesday, retails between 75,800 and 99,800 yuan. The model is equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and has two gearbox options: five-speed manual and four-speed automatic.

The Fengshen S30 produces maximum power of 78kW/5,750rpm and its top torque stands at 142Nm/4,000rpm. The manual version has a top speed of 187 km per hour and its fuel consumption is 5.7 liters per 100 km. The automatic version has a top speed of 180 km per hour and it consumes 6.0 liters of gasoline per 100 km. The S30 meet China's National IV emission standard, equal to the European IV. The model goes head-to-head with a range of other homegrown brand models, such as the Chery A5, FAW's Besturn B50 and Chang'an's Chana Z-Shine. Dongfeng has snatched up more than 5,000 orders for the S30.

The S30 is 4,502 mm long, 1,740 mm wide and 1,465 mm high. It has a 2,610-mm wheelbase.

BYD S8

The BYD S8 convertible sports car sells for 165,800 to 206,800 yuan. The S8 is BYD's first convertible and most expensive model so far. It is equipped with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder BIVT engine and a five-speed transmission. The model produces maximum power of 103kW/6,000rpm and boasts top torque of 186Nm/4,000-4,500rpm.

The S8 meets the National IV emission standard and its fuel consumption stands at 6.7 liters per 100 km. It has a top speed of 180 km per hour. Its length, width and height are 4,490 mm, 1,780 mm and 1,405 mm. Its wheelbase is 2,520 mm.
