Olympic-licensed products
According to the related regulation of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), licensed products of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games have been withdrawn from the market as of April 1. If one wants to continue to sell the licensed products, an application must be submitted to the China Olympic Committee and International Olympic Committee for approval. The Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee said that from April 1 on, the authorization of the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee is transferred to the China Olympic Committee. Therefore, if one wants to continue to sell the Olympic-licensed products, an application must be submitted to China Olympic Committee and be accepted by the International Olympic Committee.
Jiang Xiaoyu, executive vice president of the Beijing Organizing Committee, said that from April 1 on, one or two Olympic-licensed products stores will be kept, and the licensed products will continue to sell at special sites.
Volunteer IPR team
On April 9, the recruitment of IPR protection volunteers was kicked off at colleges and universities of Beijing. The city will set up a professional volunteer team and establish a long-term mechanism of voluntary service in IPR protection. With "IPR Protection, Volunteers in Action" as its theme, the activity will organize a commonweal film exhibition, IPR knowledge competition and IPR publicity to recruit IPR volunteers from university students. The first batch of volunteers will be chosen from Peking University, Tsinghua University and 16 other colleges and universities by means of IPR knowledge competition.
The volunteers will receive professional training and get certificates. They will publicize IPR knowledge, carry out regular surveys and provide clues for IPR infringement. On April 26, they will take part in the publicity activities of the "World Intellectual Property Day".
