2m yuan donation

The China Charity Federation has just received a 2-million-yuan donation from oil giant ExxonMobil to start a medical rehabilitation project in earthquake-affected areas in Sichuan.

The fund will help establish several rehabilitation centers in Mianyang and Beichuan, which were badly hit by the May 12 earthquake.

The project will also provide medical therapy services to more than 3,000 people disabled due to the quake, and training to more than 200 medical staff members.

Student platform

Online human resource services provider 51job.com has launched a national platform in China providing internship opportunities for college students in cooperation with hundreds of companies.

Using this platform, companies can post internship and part-time job information at zero cost, while students can learn about company trends and other job-related information.

So far, 596 companies, including China Mobile, Eli Lilly and Company, Ping An Insurance, Sony Ericsson, and Horizon Research have joined the platform, providing 3,165 internship and part-time jobs targeting college students.

Underprivileged youth

Mingde Charity Association has donated 500,000 yuan to China Youth Development Foundation.

The money will help launch three "Mingde Charity Association Project Hope Classes" in Beijing, Guangdong and Sichuan to support 150 underprivileged students studying at vocational schools.

This is the first donation the foundation has received since the launch of its Vocational Education Aid Plan, which helps poor students receive vocational education and develop professional skills.

New foundation

Thanks to a donation of 2 million yuan from domestic Harvest Fund Management Co Ltd, the Red Cross Society of China - Harvest Angle Care Foundation has been officially launched.

The foundation is engaged in supporting schools reconstruction, education facility improvement and children's psychological therapy in earthquake-stricken Sichuan province.
