Sharing good times with kids

To help some disadvantaged children have a happy Spring Festival, volunteers of Nokia China Investment Co Ltd invited children of Sun Village and the Hebei Zhao County Orphanage to spend two days days in Beijing just before the Lunar New Year.

The volunteers led their small guests to play with their own children and enjoyed watching the Journey to the West drama with them in China Children's Art Theatre on the first day. They visited China Science and Technology Museum the next day.

Sun Village, located in Beijing Shunyi District, is a home for over 100 children whose parents are in prison. The center provides basic and special education, psychological consultancy, interest protection services and vocational education for children ages 1 to 18.

The Hebei Zhao County Orphanage cares for more than 30 local orphans eager for love and care from others.

Nokia China has set up long-term relations with the two philanthropic organizations since 2006. In addition to financial support from the telecommunication giant, Nokia volunteers have initiated a series of programs for the children.

In 2006, over 40 Nokia employees visited Sun Village and the orphanage to spend the International Children's Day with the kids.

In 2007, they invited the children to their homes in Beijing to experience a family's love.

According to the company, the volunteers have been increasing and the program will continue with more interactive projects.
