New health info group

The China Medical Organization, Beijing Health Bureau and Beijing Health Protection Institution have created a countrywide health media federation in order to let the media play a bigger role in the country's medical reform.

The federation will have regular seminars to help the public better understand health information. It will also help the government spot problems regarding medical reform.

Earth quake relief aid

LG Electronics (China) Co Ltd has begun a reconstruction project for the Yutang Love Middle School in Dujiangyan, an area seriously stricken by the May 12 Sichuan earthquake.

The project will benefit more than 1,300 students and is part of a series of post-quake relief works by the South Korea-headquartered company, which has so far donated 17 million yuan.

4 million yuan from P&G

Procter and Gamble (P&G) Co, the world's largest consumer-products manufacturer, has recently donated 4 million yuan to China Youth Development Foundation (CYDF), in order to further support Project Hope in China.

The investment will be used for building more Hope Schools in China's rural areas by 2009. So far, P&G has invested a total of 46 million yuan for supporting China's Project Hope.
