CCTF Net platform
The Oracle Education Foundation and China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) signed a memorandum of understanding in mid-March and officially launched a joint project leveraging Think.com and ThinkQuest as the Internet platform to promote innovative use of technology in schools supported by CCTF across China.
Teachers and students from participating primary schools will be able to obtain knowledge, collaborate on projects and share educational content with over 336,000 students and teachers from 45 countries who are already members of Think.com's protected online learning community.
LG training bases
To further improve after-sale service and guarantee consumers' interest, LG Electronics recently set up four training bases in Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu to offer professional training for staff.
Since establishing the first service center in Beijing in 1996, the company has created a comprehensive after-service network around China. The recent move will help LG Electronics create an internal after-sale service talent bank.
Beirun donation
Beirun Group, a Beijing-based group of private companies engaged in finance, real estate and industries, donated 1 million yuan to the China Children & Teenagers' Fund recently to set up Beirun Orphans and Disabled Children Support Fund.
The fund is to provide aid to the foundation's projects concerning the medical care and education of orphans and disabled children, teachers' training, as well as improving orphanage facilities.
The group promises to inject more money into the fund in the future along with its business development.
Ningbo CSR report
Ningbo Huaxiang Electronic Co Ltd recently released its 2007 Corporate Social Responsibility Report.
In the report the listed company says it has upped effort in research and development and technological upgrading to guarantee the interests of stakeholders. The firm's involvement in social communities has also contributed to local development, the report says.
Research agreement
To accelerate the development of China's charity sector and enhance research on the relationship between taxation and social charity, the China Charity Federation has signed an agreement with the China International Taxation Research Society to strengthen cooperation.
The two partners will join forces to carry out related research, host high-profile forums, organize professional training courses and promote international exchange.
