Q: What is your hobby?
A: Playing mahjong. For me, it's a way to get along with my friends. I also like climbing mountains and playing badminton.
Q: Are any of your family members involved in Tanyoto?
A: None of my family members are in Tanyoto. I need to put the best people in the right positions. If my family members are not good enough, they simply have to stay out.
Q: You served 18 years in the army. If you could make choice, would go over that again?
A: I experienced a lot in the army and the 18 years were an enormous influence on me. I went through battles and witnessed life and death. But if I could choose, I would have left earlier to start my own business.
Q: Who is your role model or hero?
A: I have never adored a specific person, only achievements they have made. There is no perfect person and everyone has his or her own strengths and weaknesses.
Q: Have you ever thought about going into some other sectors such as real estate?
A: I only want to build two brands in my lifetime: Tanyoto and Chengdu Dimsum. I want to make them world famous. For me, to be Number 1 is more important than money.
Q What's your secret for success?
A: Opportunity is more important than anything else. Then you need the capability to catch opportunities. Moreover, you have to be an honest and hardworking person to succeed.
