BEIJING - Fire broke out at a Carrefour supermarket in downtown Beijing on Wednesday afternoon.
Around 3:10 pm, heavy smoke and open flames were seen from a Carrefour outlet building in Chaoyang district of Beijing, according to a Xinhua reporter at the site.
Many people were seen gathering at the building top, said the reporter.
Firefighters and medical workers have arrived at the scene.
