Zoo where tigers starved reopens

A statue of a Siberia tiger is seen in front of the gate of the Shenyang Forest Wild Animal Zoo in northeast China's Liaoning Province, on July 15, 2010. The zoo was criticized after staffers revealed that 11 Siberia tigers had starved to death between December and February. After a shutdown of four month, it has reopened. According to a staffer, the tigers are well accommodated by the city's government, which oversees the zoo for now, with a daily consumption of a dozen kilograms of beef and an extra drumstick or a fowl.
