Michael Phelps has won a total of 22 medals – 18 golds – in 51 Olympic races.
The most decorated Olympian called time on his swimming career on Saturday with a fitting ending - a gold medal in the 4x100-meter medley relay at the London Games.
The 27-year-old from Baltimore is now looking forward to the rest of his life.
